HORSESHITE mate, Ducati and BMW are two different and highly complex animals than those ancient overhead direct driven spring valve. Ducati makes totally new engine every 5 years whereas Japs make an engine every 50 years. If you open a Suzuki or a Honda engine, you'll find less than 10 simple pieces. Ridden by a good rider, Ducatis and BMWs annihilate any Jap vacuum cleaner any day. It's like saying Ferraris, Lamborghinis...etc are the least reliable cars on earth because there is a higher chance of failure than my toyota prius. What a joke this dude is.

Looks like you are a Trumpy "Ah am a Reeeeal Aaamerican. Ah don't want socialized medicine". Guess what? The number 1 worst health system in the industrialized world is in the US. Canada has by far better health care systems then the US. What's more, Canada spends 10% of its GDP (Asks Trump to explain to you what is GDP) while the US spends 15% of its GDP for its miserable health system. All thanks to brainless ignorant Reeeeal Aaamericans.

I just became a new fan of yours based on your slightly older videos, but honestly in this one you seem a little excessively full of yourself. Why is it so much better to see your beautiful face than to just hear your voice and be able to focus on the pictures and clips? And I definitely don't click on motorcycle videos to spend any amount of my life watching a regular looking man go on about how amazing he is for being funny and knowing motorcycle things. Just my opinion.

That guy didn't save the tank slapper. He made it worst until the bike went over a big hole and he finally let off his hard grip on the bars. I can let go of the handlebars at any speed (and I've done it many times at over 200km/h). Bike always goes straight. Tank slappers only happen when the rider grips the bars too hard and doesn't let the front wheel do what it needs to do to keep itself inline. Or if the frame is bent or the head bearing is shot.

I've put 8k miles on my 16 Daytona 675, the only issue I have had was the oil pan gasket started leaking around 3k, which got fixed under warranty. Other than that, the bike has been amazing, 10/10 would buy a second one

Having owned a BMW R1100S for the past 16 years, I can certainly confirm they are highly unreliable. I bought the bike under the ideia that boxer bmw’s were bullet proof, and this has certainly been a POS lemon... Integral ABS failure, both cylinders/pistons replaced, 2x clutch slave cylinders, 1 master slave cylinder, clutch disk failure, gearbox seals, front fork seals, starter engine, wheel bearings , etc, etc, etc... It also doesn’t help that BMW marks up their part prices by at least 300% and has probably the highest labour costs of all bike brands. The only reason I keep the bike is because, being a boxercup replica, I find it to be the most beautiful bike ever made...

Consumer Report is a great publication for looking at very complicated decisions buyers make and simplifying them into "lists" of good or bad. But time and time again historically, when the topic involved markets driven by enthusiasts (i.e., cars, motorcycles, speakers, televisions , etc.), it often OVERSIMPLIFIED the choice. And I'm not talking anecdotal evidence compared to statistical evidence, but rather who they talked to, what data they collected and how it was weighted. I won't say the numbers here are wrong, and I certainly don't go to any fanboy websites for advice, but I hope anyone looking at bikes will do some more research and add it to what CR tells you that you need to know, before you overlook that Triumph you might want to buy.

Man, I am 63 years old. I never owned a BMW car or bike, never owned a Ducati, and since we are talking motorcycles, nevermind the Canam. I have put a lot of miles on Rice burners with a lot of good service. The Triumph I owned was like a 70's bike and it really gave me poor service so I can't speak about the new ones. Now listen up, I had a Panhead HD and it was really old, not too good on that one but I have had 4 HD since 2007 and I loved them all. Sold my 1999 Sporster because of health issues but those cleared up and I got a 1997 Roadking and I loved that bike but a lady turned left at a light and that was all of that. When I healed up I got a temporary bike a 1998 WideGlide and it was an awesome bike but I rode a 2011 Heritage and I just could not pass that up. So what I am saying, 5 reasonably late modlle Harley's and only one break down. That was the Heritage and it was pretty minor but I did need a friend to come get me. I always felt like I needed to go 10 miles an hour faster on the Jap bikes, but on my Harley's I look good at any speed...Just saying

I had a ‘68 triumph back in those days. Reliable....no.....but I don’t remember caring. I paid $600 for it back in ‘71. Had fun. I think electrical stuff was the biggest problem, but, like I said, too long ago to really remember Cheers!

At 59 I like the idea of no need for feet down when briefly stopping, and a pair of tires in the front, so the "idea" of the Can-Am I like. But I sure do wish it was brought to the public by the VICTORY subdivision of Polaris or, one of the big four Japanese companies.

With CanAm, the problem with a trike or 4-wheeler "motorcycle" is that it still needs to lean into turns. It is doable, BUT it takes more work. Love the concept, but I wish they put more effort into the execution. BMWs aren't cheap, but before buying one, I did a lot of research from other users. I wanted to know how reliable the model I was looking at were. For at least my choice, the report on quality was exceptional. As far as comfortable ride is concerned, remember that Ducati and Triumph may be comparing sportbike models designed with the track in mind. Sportbikes are designed to be on the pegs most of the time for a short period of time...not sitting on the saddle for hours at a time. Any bike designed for that purpose is likely uncomfortable for most people.

you should consider maintenance costs and ease for all bikes in general because harleys kick the shit out of all other bikes, case in point there are only several thousand companies making parts for them...and i am not just talking exhaust mods...how many different companies make gas tanks for your bike? I have dozens of makers for my "48" and ZERO for my Ninja 250 and ZX11. I had to give you a giant thumbs down for this video...good luck finding parts for your jap bike as it ages

Damn BMW? Been riding R1200GS (Original, Adventure and now LC) since 2009 and just added an R9T Urban to my stable. My bikes have always been garaged and serviced every year and have never, ever missed a beat. I guess I am just lucky? Worst bike - hate to say it - bought a new 916 back in the day, it never let me down but the day I picked it up it was drizzling and although I dried it off after the 3 mile ride home the rear shock had surface rust the very next day...… plus the oil cooler was dented from the manufacturer and when I complained I was told "They're all like that sir" jeez on a £12K bike in 2008 really?
